The subjects of this study are as follows. This paper seeks to show that Japan is faking its sovereignty over Dokdo. The United Nations considers Dokdo as a disputed territory. After all, the issue of ownership on Dokdo should be seetled by South Korea and Japan. Currently, the two countries is pitted against each other around the territorial issues including Dokdo. The matter was not settled before due to the politicization of the U.S. during the US-Japan peace treaty. The Japanese government in this situation asserted its sovereignty over Dokdo. And the argument that Dokdo is Japanese territory is the Japanese government’s elaborate hoax. Therefore, this paper will illuminate the fabrication of the Japanese government after the peace treaty. First of all, the main culprits in the fabrication will be identified and then the details of the fabrication on the so called historical and international legal facts will be presented. This paper will thoroughly examine the terminologies fabricated by Japan in order to delegitimize Korea’s territoriality of Doko. While there are previous studies individually criticizing the Japanese fabrication of Doko, there is no research dedicated to the Japanese fabrication of Doko.
