- 蜻蛉巻の方法 ― 蜻蛉巻の薫をめぐって ― -
『겐지 모노가타리』의 ｢아지랑이(蜻蛉)｣ ｢습자(手習)｣ ｢헛된 꿈의 배다리(夢浮橋)｣의 세 권은 우키후네(浮舟)가 우지 강(宇治川)에 입수를 시도한 이후의 이야기를 그린다. ｢우키후네｣권말 부분에 우키후네가 우지 강에 입수를 한 것이 암시되어 있고, ｢우키후네｣권을 이어받은 ｢아지 랑이｣권에서는 여주인공이 부재인 채로 모노가타리가 전개되어 간다. ｢아지랑이｣권은 전반부 와 후반부로 나눌 수 있는데, 전반부에서는 우키후네 실종 이후의 남겨진 사람들의 모습이 그려져 있고, 후반부에 들어서는 가오루(薫)의 온나이치노미야(女一宮)에 대한 사모의 정이 표출되는 양상에 초점을 맞추고 있다. ｢아지랑이｣권 전반부의 빈출 단어인 ‘유해(遺骸)’는 아 무런 죽음의 증거 없이 사라져버린 여주인공의 상황의 비극성을 보여주고 있다고 생각된다. 또한, 주인공 가오루의 마음 속에서는 우키후네에 대한 추모의 마음과 지존의 여성인 온나이 치노미야에 대한 사모의 정이 공존하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 가오루는 자신의 상념 속에서 이상화되어 오던 황녀 온나이치노미야의 모습을 엿본다. 그러나 그 <엿보기>의 결과, 가오루 는 실제 아버지인 가시와기(柏木)처럼 이상세계에 잠입하지 못하고 사모하는 마음을 자기 내 부로 가뒤놓고 있을 뿐이다. 우수(憂愁)의 마음을 육조원의 뇨보(女房)들과의 의미 없는 교섭 을 통해 위로받고자 하는 가오루의 모습은, ｢습자｣권에서 보여지는 우키후네의 정신적 성취 와는 대조를 이루는 것이라고 생각된다
A Method of the Volume of ｢Kageroh｣ : Surrounding Kaoru in the Volume of ｢Kageroh｣
The three volumes of Kageroh, Tenarai and Yumenoukihashi of The Tale of Genji tell the story of the period after Ukihune attempted to jump into the Uji River. At the end of the volume of Ukihune, it is implied that Ukihune jumped into the Uji River, and in the volume of Kageroh (which follows the volume of Ukihune), Monogatari develops without a heroine. The volume of Kageroh can be divided into a first and second half. In the first half, it depicts the people who have been left behind after the disappearance of Ukihune, and in the second half, it focuses on the aspect of the expression that Kaoru adores, that of Onnaichinomiya. It is thought that ‘the remains’, which is a frequent wording in the first half of the Kageroh, shows the tragedy of the heroine's situation, for she disappeared without any evidence of her death. Also, in the heart of the hero Kaoru, he seems to have a spirit of remembrance for Ukihune and a yearning for Onnaichinomiya, a woman of the best qualities. Kaoru has a glimpse of the idealized Royal princess, Onnaichinomiya, in his thoughts. However, as a result of the glimpse, Kaoru, like his father, Kashiwagi, cannot infiltrate this ideal world and just keeps his longing heart inside of himself. Kaoru's descriptions are an attempt to comfort his grief through meaningless ridicule. Nyobos in Rokujyoin is thought to be in contrast to Ukihune's mental achievements which are shown in the volume of Tenarai.
