75 years after the war, as the number of war-experiencers decreased, it became an important task for weathering and preserving war memories, and interest in “Kataribe”, who is succeeded to, is growing. Kataribe not only inherits past memories to subsequent generations, but also plays a role in conveying messages such as peace, human rights and equality. In this study, we analyzed the cases of JapaneseKorean, a fist-generation A and a second-generation B, who had been performed as the Kataribe to convey the experiences of war and colonial past and to inform the situation of Koreans in Japan. As a result, both generation had a commonality in the transmission of cultural memories in terms of memory transfer and succession of war and colonial experiences. However, due to the difference between actual experience and non-experience in colonial past, differences appeared in the roles of the witness and the explainer, and the main mediator in the succession of memory. In conclusion, however, the Kataribe activities of those who succeeded from experience to non-experience played a large role in conveying the memory of Japanese-Korean unknown and the history of the war as a socio-cultural act of the community.
